In this correspondence I desire to draw

In the Colonial Secretary's original propo-

sals, the acting appointment of Postmaster

General was assigned to Mr Wolfe over my head,

though he is many years my junior.

The ignorance of my character, which the

Colonial Secretary expressed himself as having,

though he had twice seen my work as Registrar
